| Clothes of various colors are strewn about the floor. Suryodarmo folds them and sets them in piles only to scatter them again. The artist removes the gown she is wearing and starts to put on the clothes that lie about her, pulling one on over the other. She gradually transforms into a grotesque figure. The work refers to the accumulation of life stories and the experiences and situations that create rules they later destroy. |
Kleidung verschiedenster Farben wird auf dem Fußboden verteilt. Suryodarmo faltet und stapelt sie, um sie doch nur wieder zu verstreuen. Die Künstlerin zieht das Kleid, das sie trägt, aus und beginnt, die Kleidung anzuziehen, die um sie herum liegt. Sie zieht eines über das andere an, bis sie sich stufenweise in eine groteske Figur verwandelt. Die Arbeit geht zurück auf eine Reihe von alltäglichen Lebenserfahrungen in einer Persönlichkeitskrise, auf ein Verhaltensmuster sich ständig selbst zerstörender Ordnung. |
