THE SEED

Performance

2008

I remember the moment when this body is swollen
I remember the moment when the time becomes slow
I remember the moment when the leaves are falling from the tree in autum
I remember the moment when a drop of rain water fell on my face
I remember the taste of a rain water
I remember the moment when the earth quaked
I remember the moment when the heat burns
I remember the moment when the tears came up from my throat
I remember the moment when sadness blocked my breath
I remember the moment when the death face of a friend appeared in my dream
I remember the moment when love feeling stirs me to excitements
I remember the moment when I should decide something I don’t want to decide
I remember the moment when my heart beat stops for a while during my sleep
I remember the moment when hallucination controled my motion
I remember the moment when I am awake and my eyes were not open
I remember the moment when suddenly this life is a long journey of oneselfs decision.
I remember when I was 5 years old
I remember when I was starving
Sometimes, I felt like the seeds that cannot be plant...

Melati Suryodarmo is remembering some moments of salvation, the power of life, truth and love and their destructions of illusions as deaths.
